Materials & Acceptance

What types of metal does AMIX Recycling accept?
We accept all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous metal — mild steel, cast iron, structural steel, plate, HMS, engine blocks, manganese and tin on the ferrous side, and aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, lead, zinc, batteries and transformers on the non-ferrous side. If you’re not sure what you have, bring it in or call us and we’ll identify it for you.
Do you accept material from the general public?
Yes. Homeowners and DIY customers are welcome. From burnt-out Christmas lights and old appliances to leftover renovation materials — if it’s metal, we’ll recycle it responsibly and pay you for its value.
Is there anything you can't take?
We can’t accept hazardous or sealed pressurized items such as propane tanks, fuel tanks that haven’t been purged, or containers holding oils, refrigerants or chemicals. Appliances containing refrigerant must be certified drained before drop-off. Call ahead if you’re unsure — it saves a trip.
How should I prepare my material?
Sorted and clean material earns a better rate. Separate ferrous from non-ferrous, keep grades apart where you can, and cut oversized steel to a manageable size. Our staff can walk you through preparation standards so your next load grades higher.

Pricing & Payment

How is pricing determined?
Pricing is based on current market rates, the grade and cleanliness of the material, and volume. Rates move with the global commodity market, so pricing on the day of delivery is what applies.
Can I get a price list?
Yes. Sign up with our sales team and we’ll send weekly price lists straight to your inbox so you always know where the market sits before you deliver.
How and when do I get paid?
Payment is fast and transparent. Public and small-volume drop-offs are settled at the buying station on the day, and commercial accounts are paid on agreed terms with full weight and grade documentation for every load.
Can I track my transactions?
Yes — our online customer portal gives you visibility into your weights, grades and transaction history at any time.

Bins, Pickup & Commercial Service

Do you provide bins and containers?
We offer roll-offs and custom shop bin configurations for yard clean-ups, job sites, and manufacturing facilities. We handle delivery and pick-up and can design a bin layout that fits how your shop actually works.
How quickly can you swap a full bin?
We commit to a 48-hour bin swap from the point of call, so your operation never stalls waiting on a container.
Do you offer scheduled scrap management programs?
Yes. For manufacturers, fabricators, contractors, machine shops and service centres, we build custom metal management programs that cover collection scheduling, bin logistics, reporting and rates — designed to maximize the value of your scrap.
Do you handle demolition and equipment destruction?
We provide complete demolition services with integrated metal collection and removal, and we issue Certificates of Destruction (COD) for proprietary equipment, recalled products and audit reporting.

Visiting the Yard

Where are you located and when are you open?
AMIX Recycling is at 11698 140 Street, Surrey, BC V3R 2V4, open Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
What happens when I arrive?
Vehicles with larger loads weigh in on our truck scale for a quick in-and-out. Non-ferrous drop-offs go to our dedicated buying station, where hand carts, sorting bins and knowledgeable staff are on hand to help.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is needed for public drop-off. For large industrial loads, demolition scope, or first-time commercial accounts, call ahead at 1-888-400-2649 so we can have the right equipment and staff ready.
What should I bring?
Bring valid government-issued photo ID for the transaction record, and documentation of ownership for high-value or commercial material.
